I bought a 98 TA in 99, it had 26k miles on it. I drove it as a DD for 7 years. It had 175k miles on it when I sold it. The only issues I ever had were with the headlamp and window motors (standard issues), the fuel pump, and the clutch. The car held up very well for the 20k+ miles per year I put on it...

114k here, bought it with 100k. Runs strong, no odd noises, tranny shifts nice and firm. The previous owner was a women..... so yes I have nightmares about potential problems because of that from time to time.

To the OP, these motors are meant to last(wish I could say the same for the pos rear end), take good care of her and you'll always walk away from her with smile on your face.

Chances are good that it actually goes higher than it's reading.. Our Oil guage is'nt known for it's accuracy.. More just to let you know you have pressure.. It's also like this for the 3800-II cars too.. I hooked up a full sweep guage and found the stock guage is'nt even close to correctly displaying proper oil psi..

I dont know where u guys find these F-bodies with only 65k-75k miles on them at. I bought mine with 107k last year and now has 122k almost 123k. No problems yet, i change the oil every 2500 milles with Mobil 1 synthetic. only thing i had go bad on me was the power steering rack and I replaced that. Still runs strong!

My old camaro made it to 170,000 and the next owner still hasnt replaced anything major. Didnt buy it new though. My old TA's engine popped at 40k though The current ride has ~80,000.

The 98 is closing in on 182,xxx. Just laid down a 25 foot long twin stripe of black stuff to make sure it is still up to the task. It would have went longer but I relented and let up on the throttle...
