How can I verify ss options????

I have the vin of a potential 'next car' that I'm looking at and I want to double check dhat ss options it has like the diff, bilstein, exhaust etc. Is there a site I can punch the vin into or are the codes for SLP options on the doors or lid?

Appreciate any input !

You can call slp. There should be a secondary sticker on passenger door with all slp options. slp number is 732 349 2109. Just give them the vin and they will tell you the options

they wont tell you. i called them a few months ago to ask them what options my car came with and they said they couldn't. they said i'd have to buy a build sheet for like $50. all the told me was my cars build number.

Bastards . Aren't the codes listed on the doors or glovebox ? Ivebeen googling trying to find the codes if they're documented anywhere

slp sticker is not on drivers side. Its on passenger door jam. If it has slp options they will all be listed on that passenger side door jam. They are not in a code. each slp option is spelled out for you to read

The sticker with any SLP options is on the passenger door jam. To verify that it came with SLP options, look for the WU8 (real SS) and Y2Y (came with options from SLP). These codes are on the sticker on the driver's door jam.

It could be added on too. One of the most common upgrades besides exhaust is a SLP lid. My Z has one.

Thonkbim going to pass on that ss but the lid had SLP molded into it and had an oem yellow sticker affixed to it. Didn't look atermarket or anything like the SLP lid I put on my z28.

That is a factory optional SLP lid that was available on a Y2Y SLP car. You couldn't buy that lid over the counter, or at least not for very long.

When you actually purchase a lid from SLP, you don't get that Blackwing lid,,,,you got a cheaper version of molded plastic that didn't have any of the reinforcment ribbing you see on that optional Blackwing.

With that said, there were a couple of design changes with "over the counter" lid as well. The early editions had the SLP logo molded into it just like the Blackwing lid,,,,then later it was redesigned and came with a cheaper and simple white SLP sticker just stuck onto the top of a smooth lid surface.

These are just some of the changes I've seen from buying them over the years. I haven't bought one in 3-4 years though, but I would assume they are still producing the smooth plastic lids with the white SLP sticker on them.

Hmm I'm wondering what other options this car has now. It's a higher mileage car but the car is in mint shape inside and out. If it has th auburn diff and bikstein suspension I'm gonna be interested all over again. Will be calling SLP Monday to find out with the vin.

Try a chevy dealer parts dept. I use them for paint codes when the stickers are unreadable or painted over. If you give them the vin they should at least be able to tell you if it was a SLP for SS upgrades. Usually the hood is a good giveaway, look at the quality and fitment. Also the sway bars should be larger and they come with differnt shocks and slp exhaust.

This is the sure fire way to check for a real SS.......no need to verify with SLP,,,it's all on the door stickers.
