Horsepower guesstimates??
Hi guys, I have a 2000 Camaro z28. I was wondering what wheel horsepower and crank horsepower you guys think it makes. It has an LS6 cam, long tube headers, cat deletes, glasspacks, dumps, K&N filter, and predator tune. So what do you think the numbers are??
Thanks!

2002 Z28 A4 NBM- Sadly now demodded :(
~330 rwhp/340rwt....
You really need a better intake to realize what an ls6 cam can do...
Also A4 or M6? This will have a bit to do with what you turn on a dyno.
And the most important thing is what do you run in the quarter mile? 500 rwhp is worthless if you can't hook it up...67 Camaro: K-K + 797-z (look it up), 454/Th400/4.10 12-bolt = 6mpg, PS/PDB/PW tilt, tach, gauges...
2005 Corvette LS2/M6 Magnetic Red Metallic (What else would it be?) w/ Cashmere interior
2002 Z28: NBM/Tan, MTI smooth lid, smooth bellows, !AIR, !cats, 1-3/4" QTP SS LT's, 2-1/2" TD's with X-pipe, MagnaFlows dumped at axle, custom welded SFC's, MidWest Chassis body mount adjustable T/A, 3400 stall, 3.23 gears (was 2.73). Tuned: 343rwhp/357rwt (before TD's). Best: 12.559 @ 108+, 1.73 60' @ 3500' DA w/MT ET Street DR's.
Carbon footprint? CLOWN SHOE!

It's an M6. I have C5 zo6 wheels and tires, so it hooks up pretty well. What kind of intake do you recommend I get? Thanks for your response!

I'm not looking for good track times, but I want all the horsepower I can get for the street lol. Would it be better to buy a stock LS2 or LS7 intake manifold, or an after market LS1 manifold like the Professional Products 96mm body? Thanks again guys!

I think your HP would be about 12.8 at 107

I would say a LS6 intake depending on what future mods you plan then you may have to use a FAST or Prof. products.

I think you're overshooting myself.
OP - Yes, get the LS6 intake if you don't plan on ever changing your set-up.
Do you have any suspension modifications? Ideally, suspension and drivetrain should be upgraded first
Oh, and street racing is illegal and you shouldn't do it

I don't know what street racing is. I want the extra horsepower so my A/C compressor can run stronger . Anyways, if I don't go into debt by the end of the summer and I keep the car, I am planning on putting a very aggressive cam in, and further down the road, an aftermarket driveshaft, and moser rear. Would the LS7 intake be better than the LS6? Thanks for all the insight guys! When I finish polishing the wheels I will take pics of her and post them.

think you'd be best with a fast intake if you have plans for a more aggressive cam.
Any head work planned?

LS7 intake won't work, it's designed for 12 degree square port heads.
Guessing at HP??? Just stick it on the dyno and find out. Or go to the track and have some fun with it.

I will take it to the dyno eventually, I was just curious to see what estimates you guys would have.

FAST for the intake with a big cam. It's the best for these cars.

If you had the LS6 intake to go with the LS6 camshaft, along with a set of headers and exhaust, it could make somewhere in the 360 rwhp neighborhood on a dynojet. At stock weight and driven decently it could go into the 12's easy enough at 110+ mph depending on alot of variables. Probably be a tad less with your LS1 intake.
I've seen LS6 crate motors with nothing but headers make 370-380 rwhp and go 112+ mph, but being a complete LS6 they have the benefit of better cylinder heads and a 1/2 point bump in compression.

I just bought the car a few weeks ago, and I'm finding all sorts of after market stuff I didn't know about. Is there a way I can tell if I have an LS6 intake already? I was told it has around 360rwhp, so I suspect maybe it does.

No EGR provision would be the first giveaway. SLP did sell the intake with EGR capability so this isn't always a foolproof way of knowing.
Best to restort to the part numbers. There are a handfull of them floating around depending on applications. One of mine has this part number,,,,,,12573572 Which is off of a caddy CTS-V.
My other 02 has a factory equipped LS6 intake part number 12561184
You'll find the numbers on the driver side right in the middle along the fuel rail, between the injectors.

I found the part number, it was on the passenger side and it reads 1256068. Anyone know which intake it is?
