    150 today on the jersey turnpike and got then got beat by a porsche GT3... the faster we went the more he pulled away... that damn car sounded like a big block motor..obviously it wasnt ... but i never heard a porsche sound like this

    2002 CAMARO SS 35th LE

    I did about 150mph on the freeway over on 680... did have enough room for 160mph.. what is the true top speed..?? i have an 02" .. i think its 167mph.. anyone??

    limiter is set on 162 mph...without it your car will do low 170's....stock that is

    I thought all M6 cars had 3.42 gears from the factory. I also thought the 3.23s are the preformance option for an A4 car.

    BTW, with the same driveline I don't believe it's possible to go faster with 3.73s than with 3.23s. That's physically impossible. It's simple mechanics. The final drive ratio is the result of the top gear ratio and the rear gear ratio. Lower (higher number) is slower at top end.

    Where and when on 680 did you find enough open space to reach 150? Must have been in the middle of the night. Besides, California road surfaces suck. Doing those kinds of speeds on 680 is asking to go airborne after hitting one of the irregularities in the "road surface" that CalTrans leaves behind.

    While the top end is technically lower....you wouldn't get to the top of 6th gear with a 4.56 gear.
    Top of 6th would be 208 MPH with that 4.56 gear.
    And you won't get there.

    I hit 151 mph Fri morning. Got on Woodhaven Ext and NO ONE was in front of me, I threw down my sandwich and dropped into 3rd and let her rip, by the top of 5th I was around 147-148, shifted into 6th and took about 3-5 secs to get up to 151 then I backed down. I have hit 144 and 147 in the past before running out of road, 150 was my goal so now I am done........................yeah right

    yea but remember with all that drag...it takes gobs more power to get just a mile faster. so i would think anywhere from 180-185 give or take a few

    Top end is stupid but 1/4 aint sane either seeing that 100 mph+ can get u a big ticket or killed also......I think all of us f-body people are loose cannons lol......life in the fast lane
