Does it pop out if 2nd or does it go straight into 4th. If it goes into 4th then it's just the skip shift. If it pops out of second into neutral than it's likely that your shift stop has loosend up and needs to be readjusted.

It sounds like your shift stop needs adjusting. If it was the skip shift it would go right from 1st to 4th. The shift stop is pretty easy to adj. all you gotta do is disassemble the console, pull it out and you should be able to see two bolts with nuts, one at the top where 1st, 3rd and 5th are and the other where the bottom gears are. All you do is back the bolt out a touch and tighten the nut good, test it before you put it back together to make sure it's fully engaged (shifter will click in solid when it's adj. right) Now you're good to bang gears.

Hurst Billit Plus and the PRO 5.0 are the most popular and
I would say the best! Does your shifter have adjustable stops? As for your shifter popping out of gear, it sounds like an internal problem. Check your syncros, sliders and dogs and bearings. An out of balance trans thats worn out enough will cause it to pop out of gear!

it bad enough that it will push out completely out of gear. But this weekend I will find the extent of the damage.
