would the $51,000 price tag be worth it? would it be worth a lot more in the future? Something like the grand national?

124mph on that G8 is impressive! That's up there in C6Z06 territory for considerably less $$. The only thing I don't like about it is using the name firehawk because I always think of an fbody with that name.

Or just G8 SLP - Get rid of the GT or something... No Firehawk nameplate for sure though.

2016 Camaro SS - Summit- 2001 Trans Am WS6 - NBM
After hearing that Nickey Chicago is doing a Camaro now, I'll bet money they blow that Hennessey out of the water. Impressive as it is, I'm more excited about the future Nickey car (even though it will probably be above any of our price ranges).
Not liking the 'Firehawk' for various reasons, but the two most important:
1. SLP touched it...
2. They gave it a name they don't even deserve to use anymore...

Yes, those were great cars, they were Firebirds...this is a G8, that's what I'm getting at. They should have dropped the name with it, because it directly ties to the Firebird name. I am by no means saying that those cars weren't awesome, I want an LS1 Firehawk myself. But, in my opinion, they should have let that name die with the Firebirds.
In all reality, I guess it really doesn't matter now that all of Pontiac is going down....

Pewter- 1999 Camaro z28
To me the "FireHawk" from the back going down the track looks like the back of a Mercedes. I wish they wouldn't have used the name as well, the camaro is just plain nasty I'm not a big fan of orange and usually when I think of Yenko's I think of that almost baby blue color Chevy used to make back in the late 60's. But on any rate both are amazing cars with serious power.

BLACK- 2000 Camaro SS
Did anyone else notice what seems to me like some performance discrepancies in the 2 cars? The Camaro, with 550ish, at the wheels, only did 4.3 sec. from 0 to 60, and 12.1 sec in the 1/4 mile. The Firehawk, with 500 crank hp, was faster to 60 with 4.0, and matched the Camaro's 1/4 mile time. Doesn't the G8 weigh in the same ballpark as the Camaro? I would have expected better numbers from the HPE550 Camaro.

Yeah you're right, the camaro made 559rwhp and did the 1/4 in 12.1 at 120mph while the G8 did the 1/4 mile at 12.1 also but at 124mph...doesn't add up. Even if the G8 has better traction the camaro should have a significantly better mph w/ that much more hp.

that 124 trap speed does not seem possible to me with only 500 hp in that car
