    Help!

I have a 2000 SS m6, bone stock, I was driving to work today, hit it pretty hard at a stop light, and now anytime I push the gas pedal down at any speed I get this massive grinding and my car shakes badly, if i go extremely slow I can build up speed and switch through all gears and go at any rpms, but I can barely touch the gas pedal and it grinds and vibrates, anyone have any idea what it could be, someone from work said it could be a busted u-joint but I have no idea, thanks

edit: it sounds like it's coming from bellhousing/clutch, still have no idea the actual problem, its a severe grinding
