    Headlight Housings W/HID Question

Been thinking about either OEM or a black aftermarket housing to replace the fading factory units. I found these with HID, I am not sure of the quality though, seems like a decent price and good setup, but what do you all think? HID is not a must, but it is kind of cool that they have it on the low beam. What happens when you have to replace the HID bulbs? Easy to find or not really? Thanks!

Thats a pretty good price! I am pretty sure my halos alone were close to that price, and that was with out the HID's!

Is it junk though? I don't want it to be filled with water like a fish bowl or something...

I dont have those halos. I cant find mine for sale anymore. If you look at my album you will see the ones I have. They are very good quality, I have had them for over two years with no water of yellowing! Thats probably why they were just over $200.

I gotcha. How do HIDs work actually as far as replacing a bulb, if a hid bulb fails can I still plug in a normal bulb? Just never experienced retrofitting them...

You have to replace a HID bulb with a HID bulb! You cant replace it with any thing else. I do not have HID's. I just have halo's wit hthe stock bulbs and wiring. Check out this thread

Well yeah I know you need to replace HID with HID - I am just curious if they are modifying the halo housing to ONLY fit HID or you could go back to standard halogens if they discontinue those particular HID bulbs...

Asks the seller the beam projector against the wall and the type of HID kit the headlights using. H7s, H1s are good.

I have similar headlights but came w/ H1 halogen bulbs. The bulbs are some what less desirable to me so I'm replacing them w/ H1 HIDs.

Here is the beam projector of my headlights w/ H1 halogen.

With HIDs it'll be much more whitier and brighter.
