    Hardtop curb weight?

Anyone know the weight of a hardtop 98 Z28 A4?

And how much weight can be removed by deleting the A/C?

    *edit* A search tells me it's 3443 for a 99 M6. Are A4s lighter or heavier than M6s?

I'd like to get my car down to 3300 by deleting the rear seats, A/C, rear speakers, and some other random crap.

4l60E weighs quite a bit more than the T56s, so A4s should weigh more in general.

Yea, that's with 4 "average" sized passengers and a full tank of gas I believe.

    4 seats X 175lb people = 700lbs
    18 gallons X 5lb per gallon = 90lbs

    4234-790=3444 actual weight.

    Camaro weight

I have a 2002 Z-28 A4 with T-Tops. I weighed it at the track and it weighrd 3440. You will gain a tenth of a second for every 100 lbs you shed. That is the general rule of thumb.

I weighed my hardtop SS today with myself in it. weighed 3,660 with half a tank of gas and myself in it. I weigh 180 pounds, and it has the spare tire and everything in it, plus subframe connectors, strut tower brace, LCA's, and panhard bar. the tubular suspension parts weigh a bit more than stock ones.

i stripped most of mine down and it weighs 3310 with me in it. i still have ac, but i took out almost all of the interior and every bit of sound deadening, plus i took out the seats and replaced them with scat 1750 racing seats that only weigh 16 pounds a piece.

Like I said I weighed my car and with a half tank of gas it weighed 3340 with me out of the car. It really doesent pay to strip one of these cars down!! You dont gain that much for what you take out.

My 00 SS T-top weighs 3520 lbs. and that was with a full tank I believe.

My 02 SS convertable with an auto comes in at 3,620 lbs.
