2016 Camaro SS - Summit- 2001 Trans Am WS6 - NBM
Goodbye 2011, thanks for the hole in my fender...
Haven't been on in a while, so I thought I'd share what will be the most memorable part of my 2011.... and unfortunately not in a good way
And for the story behind the photos, I was going on my lunch break from work December 19, 2011. Got out of the parking lot and up to the stop sign at 54th & Lewis (Tulsa). Well, there were construction signs obscuring my view of the road, so I was having to look left and right quite often. Long story short, I thought I had the clear in turning left (south), and somehow didn't see this F-150 in the left southbound lane...which I later found out was because he had just gotten onto Lewis from the other side of the construction. First accident that was my fault. Sucks, I was hoping to go my whole life without one of those, especially driving the SS. I also got a nice 150 dollar ticket for failure to yield. On the flip side, the other guy was really nice about it (and he got a ticket for expired tags). Not enough damage for my 1000 dollar deductible on my side, fortunately have full coverage for the little damage I did to his son's truck.
Looking at having to buy a new fender, bumper cover, and do some rigging on a small plastic piece that busted on the lower back end of the headlight assembly. For now, I have a nice little fender scoop to keep my engine cool

Yeah that's pretty much standard for Tulsa PD. Someone has to be at fault, and the ticket just solidifies it. He let the fact that my license wasn't on me go since I know my number.
And I got tapatalk again just for you Spaz, I knew you missed me

Yeah I'm fine Andy, just my pride that hurts. You can see from the damage that I was at least quick enough to turn and prevent a direct collision. That would have sucked worse as I'm sure his back tire would have been on my Hood lol. No Hood damage BTW which is awesome.

If you look real close you can see the truck tire actually buffed out some of the haze on my headlight lol. They are getting bad again...I've buffed them out about 4 times now, may just replace them when I get the other parts

Like you said, could have been a whole lot worse. Good to see that you came through it unscathed.

Nobody got hurt and parts can be replaced but the tickets are the worst when it come to insurance rates. I know, I live in New Jersey with the highest rates in the country. Parts are available and the paint should be easy to match. Good Luck.

That's great. In my state the rates would go up 30% for a chargable accident and the ticket. My 22 year old son has a clean record and he is on my policy. We both have clean records and he pays 2750.00 per year for full coverage on a 2005 Subaru Legacy Turbo. One ticket and accident would cost him an 800.00 increase. Glad you were not hurt.

Black- 2002 SS Camaro
I feel you on the headlights, I have done them every 2 months for the past year. I finally had enough and bought the whistler mod headlights from an old sponsor. I don't like having little LED's in my headlights so they were my only option.

Yeah I've played with the idea of getting aftermarkets, but I've seen too many complaints about them retaining water, horrible wiring etc. I think I will go the same route as you and just go stock with whistler
Good to be back :rocking:
