Seems fair to me if nothing is wrong with it. Might could get him down to $5k.

    Good luck.

See that's what I was thinking. Especially since I want it for my girl to drive for a summer ride. It already seems he tried to mod it a little late into its life. I just didn't want to insult the guy with a low offer.

Not too late in its life, but with the mileage/year/looks of it just not something I'd pay top dollar for.

Yep, price seem fair to me if nothing wrong with it. If it's what you need to fit the bill you can't get much of a car for any less money. Stuff I see cheaper are generally nothing but steaming piles of cow dung

5k is reasonable for a 98 ss imo

I would go 5k on it because of the LS1 engine. If it were before that with a LT1 I would walk. JMO

Check kbb.com for a 98 Z28 with 120K miles. That should give you something besides opinions to go to him with an offer.

Edit: I just checked and Kelly Blue Book recommends $5,800 for a "Fair" car, $5,900 for a "Good" car and $6,245 for an "Excellent" car.

Nada and Edmunds are very good sources too.
