good deal?

i went and looked at a 99 z28. it is a m6 with 80500 miles good shape auto everything and leather. he wants 9000 but said he would let it go for 8500. should i jump on this or try and talk him down to 8000? anything i should look at next time i drive it?

Its always better to try and get it cheaper, but I would jump on it. Get it out on the highway, check out how it shifts (clutch & syncros) and listen for any rear whine or sqeaks and rattles. Rev it up and listen to the motor for any knocking. Check for leaks if its a T-TOP and check on CAR-FAX. I am sure there is more to check but dont overlook anything.

It dosent sound that great to me. I got my 1999 z28 with 25000 miles and its hugger orange and fully loaded except leather for 8500$. Its in great condition with a clean title. I would keep wateing and you will find one unless its really clean

I ran the NADA value on it for you, and it came up with $8550 for average trade in and $10,500 for average retail. Sounds like a good deal to me assuming it has a clean title. If you feel the powertrain is healthy, I would jump all over it
