Would there be any difference in the engine that was put in the car? GM just happened to have an LS1 sitting in a warehouse somewhere? The brightside would be I have less than 20,000 miles on my engine. But wonder what was wrong with the original?

Who knows what happened, there are no notes to read on the repair order in the system, so without calling the dealer to confirm the complaint, I have nothing for you....

If you wanted to do a little more digging, here is the dealer that did the repair:

    MARTIN BURKS CHEVROLET, INC.
    113 FOREST PKY
    FOREST PARK, GA 30297-2045
    (404) 366-9245

It does look like there is some history at that same dealer for some heavy engine work, lifter replacement on both banks. Also has some extensive trans work done too. Might be worth a call over there for some more detailed history.

Thanks a lot. Gonna give them a call and find out what the situation entailed. I'm interested to know.

I've been sick this whole week. Don't think it's the flu, but I at least have a sinus infection for sure. And a lot of .....

I've been raisin' two kids man, and doing a lot of work. Now that I have the internet at home, I hardly ever use it Trying to stay focused on work with this recession so I can keep my job, so I don't get to surf the forum very often from here either... How's business going with this slobby economy?

Kids are doing great. Short and slightly underweight according to the doctors, but so was I, and I'm 6'2 - 180 now, and feel fine They are otherwise healthy and happy. I hear you on the surviving part, but things are a little more nerve racking here... I work in land development....the banks got their buttholes so tight right now, even our biggest clients are having trouble getting money lent to them for new projects... they've changed up their policies so just about no one can get any money from them without trekking the pit of death first... but, I'm still staying as busy as I can, and hoping this economic slump passes quickly..

Or move to FLA where they are superior at football than you guys

Sorry, I've been waiting to drop that bomb for awhile now lol!

It sucks being the auto industry now too, our sales blow and no one has money to service their vehicles anymore. Times are tough, plus now, we don't know GM's future.... thats the scariest part!

    about time!

seriously, many thanks. though the leaky rear diff seal does explain a little why its leaking ever so slightly now. it was pretty fresh out of the shop when i bought it in may 2002 with just over 26k miles.

and the rear compartment lid refinish explains why the tree screws in teh 3rd tail light were all over tightened and broken.

    thanks again! you da man!

*Sigh* I had a feeling you'd bring that up, as if times weren't depressing enough as it is. Poor Stoops is cursed, he probably pissed off some hooker who had some experience in Voodoo... he needs to go pay her so that this can end. This has cost him much more than she ever did, minus the herpes

I feel bad for you being an employee of GM man, that's gotta be scary... so I guess really we got it about the same right now... our futures are very undetermined....

Indeed sir, you know how everyone tells you about the light at the end of the tunnel, well in our cases, the light is shit, and the tunnel is the sewege pipe at a proctologists office.... not the best case scenerio to be in!

Well if it makes you feel any better, and sooths the herpe soars of your oh so wonderful coach, I can not stand the Gators, I down right hate them and Tebow, that lanky bastard.... But alas, my Spartans started the season of magnificantly, but got their asses handed to them by Georgia.... damn.

Definately not... sounds like the light and the tunnel are both pretty full of shit....hope fate doesn't flush anytime soon

OU made a lot of mistakes in that game...when you're #1 in the country, you don't get within 10 yards of the end zone and NOT SCORE... and you don't try to kick 49 yard field goals when your kicker's last good game was in middle school, and his career best is like 32 yards .... I could go on and on, but it would really start sounding like whiny excuses. I don't hate Tebow, but I do hate the media for projecting him out like he's Jesus, they've been hanging on his balls since his speech after the Ole Miss game....

Well I think even if it gets flushed, it will be clogged because there are some massive logs down here!

Oh you mean the speach where he cried like a little bitch in.... Hey buddy, its a loss, you can't win all the damn time! Shut your mouth and play the game and quit crying like your 6 year old sister stole her my little ponies back from you. I hope his senior year is a .500 season for him, A-hole! lol sorry I usually don't harbor this much hatred, but I really just don't like him.

And to be 100% honest, I'm not the biggest fan of bradford either, does he not look like he is 12 years old? And I know what you mean with the mistakes.... I mean, cmon! It was getting really frustrating watching that game.
