    Sadly now demodded :(

    Stock would be 3.23's.

    Beyond that, who knows?

Jack up the rear of car. If it's a posi ( both wheels turn same direction ) put the valve stem at 12 oclock. Turn one full rotation, counting the number of turns the driveshaft makes.
    3 1/4 turns = 3.23's
    little over 4 turns = 4.10's
If an open carrier, block one wheel from turning, and go two full turns for the same thing.

All SS A4's came stock with 3.23's.

    2.73 was standard for A4 Z28's with 3.23 optional.

    All M6's came with 3.42's.

If it's modified then a good idea of the ratio can be obtained by following bills98ta's example.

It's either that or service the rearend and count teeth.

I have a stock A4 98 SS, so does that mean my gears would be 3.23 too?
