If I was concerned with fuel cost I wouldn't have bought the Z28 to start with.
    What a sad question.

I had someone try to explain to me how I'd save money by getting a new car with better fuel mileage, more energy independent of the middle east oil tit, and better for the environment if it were a hybrid or flex fuel. They didn't seem to understand that when I spend $300/mo in gas @ 20 MPG on a car that's paid off, it's still cheaper than a spending $150/mo for gas in a 40 MPG car with a $300/mo car payment. Or that the manufacturing of ethanol/hybrid batteries isn't very green at all, corn ethanol raises the price of food while at the same time is subsidized by tax dollars, sugar cane ethanol is mostly imported from South America, and batteries are manufactured in SE Asia. Not to mention that new cars cost more to insure than 11 year old cars with the exact same coverage. No wonder our country is so deep in debt, both consumers and the government don't have any clue when it comes to economics.

Would I end the topic if I said my 00 ss gets around 23 mpg and my 02 base model gets 24-25? Around 30% of the drive city and 70% hwy.... Course I dont try to save gas either...
