Full Throttle and A/C
Just a quick question,
On a full throttle push, does the pcm or engine management software cut the A/C compressor off? It seems on full throttle with the A/C on warmer air starts to come out of the vents. If its just cause the compressor can't keep up or something no big deal, I was just curious if that was written into the software. Thanks for the help.

On my 1999 Z28 it cuts out at 100% tps or above 4294 rpm's from the factory.

upon wot the car will disengage the a/c compressor, pulling 6k rpm's is not exactly good for the compressor ya know. its totally normal.

Artic White- 00 SS Vert.
A friend of mine turns on the A/C when he's at the drag strip. You'd think that it would rob power, but when he takes off at part throttle, it helps control wheel-spin, and when he gets going fast enough, he applies full throttle. Then the A/C shuts off all by itself.
He has a 2000 Buick Regal GS with a 3.8L supercharged (factory) that runs 13.6 secs. in the 1/4 mile with a few minor mods.. And it's a daily driver. Being a front wheel drive car makes it hard to get traction because all the weight transfers to the rear. So the A/C helps a little.Last edited by jigger1166; 08-26-2008 at 03:13 PM.

It is not a good idea to drive row through the gears or rev the car past 3,500rpms with the A/C on. You will wear out the compressor very quick.

Ya, track in atlanta ga kicks you out for that shit. You cant even run your ac in the staging lanes/lineup nor even the lines behind the lineup. Haha.
