Kinda agree. I wouldn't be worried at all. That's a VERY common mod on these cars...if not one of the first people do.

A lot of people put LT's on bc they make the car sound badass and also offer a nice HP gain at the same time as well.

If you wanna go fast, then drop a cam in the car....now thats a totally diff story. People might add LT's to give it a lil rumble and lay a good foundation for internal engine work. Most ppl dont add cams for sound.

Good luck finding a stock LS1. Most have at least a catback/lid and a few have full exhaust. And remeber just cuz its stock doesnt mean it has been stock its whole life. I knew ppl who had h/c in their cars and turned it back to stock. If your looking for a clean stock car your gonna pay a good price because chances are it has low miles and is owned by a collector. I would check out LS1 tech, their classifieds are about 100 times bigger than ours. They have at least 10-20 new posts every day....GOOD LUCK

Well buying one of these cars you can almost bet the bank that it's been at WOT a few times... why else would you buy one of these cars? Just look it over, talk to the owner, and thoroughly test drive it. I wouldn't consider LT's a red flag at all... I'd just look at it as one less thing you have to spend money on.

Light Pewter Metallic- 2001 Camaro SS
i agree with what everyone here is saying. LTs and a cat back are one of the cheaper mods that you can do and can feel/hear some real change in the car. this is going to make them more prevalent. i also look at it as one less thing that i have to buy and not as something someone beat on.

Pewter metallic- 2000 Camaro SS
I agree with 35th-ANV-SS, a lot of people do long tubes for an aggressive sound. You are talking 20 HP with long tubes, that doesn't worry me in the least. If you were talking nitrous, thats a different story.

I bought my 2000 z28 a month ago with LT's and dumps under the axle. Has a cam too, and so far its given me no problems at all and runs really strong. I wouldn't worry about it. Like everyone else is sayin, look over the car really well and make sure everything is kosher. It doesn't matter what the car has on it, I can almost guarantee it's been gunned more than just a couple times, but thats what it's for . The difference is whether or not the previous owners took care of the car and maintained it properly. Good luck!

Wouldn't worry me in the least. I would actually prefer the car to have a nice full exhaust, over a stock manifold/exhaust. If it had some rusty, nasty pacesetter headers and a shadetree Y-pipe, then it would just be one more thing I would wanna remove.
