Allright, so I picked up the 00 z28 this morning for 11g's. The car runs amazing!!!!!! Its like stepping into a time capsule the interior is so new. The car has some quirks, like a small toggle switch under the dash with no apparent use. Also still has the damned skip shift. Thats gotta go. Thats all the good. Now for the bad. About five miles from the warehouse they had it stored in, Im driving, gettin on it a little, and I see all this white smoke behind me. At first I think maybe its buring off some old gas, or oil, then I notice the temp guage start to climb. WTF??? So Im about 1/2 a mile from my house, so I limp it home coasting up to lights, and get it in my driveway, pop the hood, low and behold the lower radiator hose had popped off. So I wait until the car cools off ( I was only supposed to have left work for 1/2 an hour to go get a car 25 minutes away) and put the hose back on, boil some water, and load up. I get out of my driveway, about a mile down the road, here comes the temp again. I turn around, try to get back home but instead go to the local general store to see about buying some coolant. I also called the guys I got it from and they tell me to sit tight their sending someone out to help me. He shows up about ten minutes later (I am now an hour past what I should have been from work) and we figure out that we can just put some coolant in, and the is vapor locked, so we have to slow fill it. Get in to start it to do this, and the battery is dead. Now Im getting pissed. We jump it off his truck, and get the coolant in it, I figure Im good to go, get rolling, make it another three miles and the damn hose pops again. This time I am aware of the problem, and know how to fix it, but have no coolant or time/patience left. I call my brother (he lived 1 minute from where I was) and he says he's at work (he works at the smae dealership as me) and will be there in 20 minutes. During this time, i put the hose back on again, pour whats left of the antifreeze I have back in the car, and try to go again. This time I got about 300 ft before it started overheating again. My brother comes flying up the road, and I call the guys I got it from again. This time they sent a flatbed out for it, and my brother says he'll stay with the car, I take his car and haul ass to work, where my boss is sooo pissed he doesnt even look at let alone talk to me for the whole day. On the good side, they called and let me know they are not only replacing the hoses, but the t-stat and the battery, and they are even bringing the car to my work tomorrow so I can get it looked at in the shop before finalizing the deal. Whew, if you've made it this far in journey with me, stay tuned tomorrow for more updates.
Sorry for the book.

That would have been a bitch having a 9000 mile car dying on me. Still is a killer deal you got, have a neighbor whose radiator hose actually ruptured.
Keep the SLP's the only problem is clearence issues. Good luck man.
