1999 Chevy Camaro SS Hardtop ls1 6 speed, WRECKED

Is this car worth saving, all the electricals work and the car runs great with only 40,000 miles but do u think the body can be fixed

the passenger side door closes and opens but its rough. the dash frame and floor pans are the bad spots

Closer pics of the dash u can see the mounts are ripped off

passenger side floor pan is buckled

how much do the want for it?

you could possibly find one thats been rear ended and use the front right stub.

the only was it might be worth it though is if you can do that work, or know someone who wont charge too much

so are you saying that these camaros are built in sections?

the delership is asking 4k

yeah they are....theres 2 front stubs, and two rear stubs...these are held together, making the sub frames.

most people buy sub frame connectors to strengthen it up...I'm sure someone else can give you more info on it.

Ok im so glad u helped out, tomorrow im going to work a deal and see what price i can get, i just want to be sure that the car is fixable though

Im going to get better pictures tomorrow i took these with my digital camera

now my only worries are if the roof is straight

Looks like it might be quite a bit of frame damage. Anyone else notice the passenger seat from the hatch pic? Out of curiosity, will you share what happened. Looks like a Small compact object met up with the car.

but yeah i saw the seat, i figured it was from the buckled floor pan

The seats as well as the floor being buckled + the dash (and who knows what else besides) is why I don't think it's worth fixing.

I might be wrong though.... Good luck!

i found an original never wrecked 1999 SS camaro in a junkyard. It originally had a ls1 with 6 speed but all that is gone even the pedals.

The dash is still intact and the frame is all good on this car. Do you think that this car can save the blue hardtop SS that i posted above?

i guess this one isnt that old to be dug up, and since it was, am i wrong in thinking that in these types of situations we are dealing with no insurance and driver/owner fault for the damage? or, have insurance and dont want to make a claim, or what. if that was my car, i would negotiate the best price i could with my insurance company, take the check, and go buy another one.

If I read this correctly, these folks have insurance, BUT, the don't want to make a claim as they probably cannot afford their insurance to go up. So they write the car off. Which is a shame if the car can be repaired. I can understand accidents will happen, but some folks will just give up instantly.

if it can be repaired im all for saving the car, but when you are looking at that hulk sitting in the salvage yard thinking, i wonder if i can get enough out of that car to fix mine, and you probably wont, and if you think you did, you probably didnt find everything that should be fixed, which leaves us with a wrecked, not properly repaired car on the market eventually. thats why there are laws governing what and how repairs should be done on wrecked vehicles, to protect the clueless from themselves, and john q. buyer in the future. if you cant afford to play, dont. i think i started out agreeing with you, but, i went a little further.

the blue camaro at the delearship has a salvage title FYI I just hate how they want 4500 for it then ill have to spend 3500 to fix the car. When i could easily put 4500 down on another 1998-02 SS and pay the rest through payments.

If only the delearship was selling for a cheaper price....

I'd pay like 1500 for that car. and then part it out

it looks warped to all hell. If this was a stripped 69 Camaro in the same situation I'd say go for it, because it's something rare and can't be replaced easily. But I don't think it's worth all the hassle when you can spend the same money, if not less, for a nice non-wrecked 1-2 owner car

Looks like the motor, hood and spoiler are still good. Just part those out, or buy a high mileage Z that is blue. Swap the motors, hood and spoiler......Or just keep looking. Like you said earlier, use that money for a down payment on a car that has a clean title....

its deffently fixable but by the time you fix it you probably could of bought one, id personally go out and find one i could buy cause you jus never know what might go wrong with a wrecked car.

What's wrong with this one, besides the missing parts? Why was it sent to the junkyard?

Looks like you could use the frist one you posted to fix this one.
