The problem with the SS hood is at the track in the summer with a black car. HEAT SOAK.!

I have checked my intake air temp with and without and the temp is much lower with air coming from underneath.

So if you run a lot it helps.

I have the FTRA. I haven't track tested it yet, but I plan on doing it this spring. Butt dyno shows no gains, but we'll see at the track.

Install was easy, it took me aobut an hour and I work slow. You have to cut some plastic, so make sure you have a sharp knife. I used a regular utility knife w/a new blade, plastic cut like butter. Also, you might want to use a piece of cardboard to protect the radiator when sliding in the lower piece, it's a tight fit and you don't want to damage the radiator.

I have the block off plate, but have never installed it. I haven't had any problems with water, and mine's a DD. I checked the filter after driving home from work (30 miles) in strong downpours, and filter was dry as a bone.

Not to bash Fast Toys, but I'm glad I bought this used at 50% of retail. Maybe it'll show some gains when I track test it, but on the street I noticed no gains with it, not even a mileage increase. I drive my car pretty easy, maybe I need to hammer it more? I don't know.

Anyway, there are better things to spend 200 bucks on, IMO.

I gottch ya, make pleanty sense. I am not a track guy. Just a drive around town like "The Bandit" kinda guy on my days off. If I am not sideways or smoke is not coming off my tires...the car is either in my driveway or at a red light!
