    F my life

I came home from college today for mothers day and I figure I'll pull the Camaro out for a spin, as I'm pulling the cover off I see my front window has a huge crack in it, I guess I should never leave my car on the street full of kids, man what are your opinions of what was done to it to make it look this bad?

Looks like a ball or something hard hit it with some impact to shatter the glass like that.

I had someone throw, yes throw, a rock at my car while I was driving it down the road. It put a smash mark like yours in the upper right passenger side and also cracked it.

I'm just glad I didn't see who it was even though I stopped and looked...

Windshield replacement for OEM was around $150 to my surprise. Not as bad as I thought. Still sucks though. Just saying, been there and feel your pain!!

Only 150? do you think there is a way to replace it myself while still being safe?

For $150 I wouldn't even attempt it...the glass is fairly heavy I'm sure and getting the old one out is probably going to be one PITA.

I would have fixed it myself and left the insurance company out of it.

Why would you do that if the insurance company is replacing it for free?

I would have done the same thing with mine, but in my case, the shatter was on the passenger side up high, which is not in my line of site.

If the crack is an obstruction to your view while driving, the insurance company will fix it for free.

Oh I am in college so I am not using it and I have no garage at my grandparents house. I wish I had a garage, but since we are in a community and it is like the last house on the road and the farthest from the field on the left of the house so I thought It would be safe in the street where it was. Oh well and yeah its in the way of the drivers view so its all free with no deductible so thats why I got the insurance involved

The guy is coming out tomorrow to fix the glass I am so excited it is going to get fixed, if you were to ask my friends they would all say that I had a down and out mood until just now lol. Also my grandfather is really excited because I am letting him take the Camaro to work on wednesday to check out the window and see if everything is ok. My parts for this summer are also supposed to be in this week according to UPS so I would say today is a very good day for me.

It's been my experience that nothing the Insurance company does for you is free.

    I don't disagree there...

However, your insurance rates are going to go up from year to year regardless because of all of the other idiot driver's out there on the road causing accidents which are costing a lot more than something this minor.

You might at as well take advantage of that premium you pay monthly when given the chance to.

I hardly doubt his rates will be affected due to this incident, I could be wrong though.
