Is it raspy at all without mufflers? My SS came with the center mount exhaust so I wonder how my car would sound without mufflers. Does it affect performance at all in a negative way?

That's virtually what I have. Substitute Dynomax bullets for cherry bombs.

Here's a youtube link to some videos from inside the car.

flowmaster 80's sound good but dont flow at all, had it on my T/A for about 2 weeks then got a magnaflow added like 15rwhp upgraded my I pipe to 3" to mach the rest and now i have about 20 rwhp more than i did with the 80 series, the super 40's and 10's sound the best out of flowmaster IMO and flow a lot better.
and to IH8EVRY1 ya sounds simmilar but the cherry bomb extemes had a more throughty sound to em.

guys you got to go with a true duel system. my tuner told me that a y pipe vs a truel duel x pipe the difference is 10 hp to the wheels. get a true duel system and losing back pressure is a myth, yes you may lose a little torque down low but not enough to tell and you need horsepower at mid to high range,, no my car is not raspy at all. in fact everywhere i go i just pull up and people look and stare and say damn that car sounds great, whats in it? open up the exhuast to get the most out of it.

    SLP fucking sucks. Stay away.

I like Magnaflow personally, will never use anything else. But many say that is too quiet, but it sounds the best in my opinion.

Just put the SLP TOTL on yesterday. Love it. Has a great unique sound with out the decibels.

Another great setup is FLP LT's, Y pipe, catback, & B&B. Hada a higher pitch but it sounded more like a tuned car, i.e Ferrari, than a typical loud V8.

I agree. There was loudmouth on my car when I bought it. I ended up changing the resonator to a magnaflow bullet type muffler. It was a bit deeper, but still had a bad drone at highway speeds. I ended up going with the Magnaflow catback and it's perfect. Plus, if I want it a little louder, I can add LTs down the road.

im totally bias towards my exhaust: LT into TSP TD's with dual SLP LM resonators. its the loudest f'n thing ive heard, and gets tons of compliments on the sound. true enthusiasts love it, everyone else hates it...

Does anyone know how these cars sound without a muffler? I have the center mount exhaust on my SS and was thinking of just deleting the muffler all together. I don't have headers but I have a cat delete and ORY. Wonder how it would sound?

Long tubes+ORY+Loudmouth or no muffler=Dumptruck sound or farm truck sound

Either way, it doesn't sound good and its obnoxiously loud.

I had LTs+ORY+Loudmouth, which is essentially having no muffler. I have been around it a lot. I already stated what I felt about it and what many others think as well.

no to both, especially the 2nd because that cat-back is not mandrel bent. it is compression bent and reduces exhaust flow due to the wrinkles in the bends.
