its all good though and i agree a dyno is simply a tuning tool. however, the shop that did the tuning didnt give the run around. i was there for the tuning, took video, etc. sucks they had to close their doors cause of the recession.

like the OP, im saving for a MW Chassis 9" w/3.90's. already have a clutch waiting to go in, need to order the master/slave cylinders, and get it to the track with the currenty setup. its been to long. last 2+ yrs hit me hard , like many others getting laid off and trying to get gainful employment again.
Look for your HP #'s to drop with the 9"

i know, but im not worried about that. quicker acceleration is the trade off, but at least then i have a rear end that i wont have to worry about going out on me. im really surprised the factory 10-bolt has held up this long.

im going 3.90 over 4.11 because i still want to be able to use 1st gear... to many people i know who run 4.10's say they usually dont use it on the street.

Like most of us have said you will not hit 500whp unless you have a huge cam or use a very high reading dyno. Most 383-402 strokers with a nice cam hit about 500whp.

well, i dont know what to tell you then as to why the people i know decide on 2nd gear starts...

also a 4:56 gear is simply to deep for me considering im 95% street 5% strip. sure you can start off in 1st gear, but what, shift at 20mph!? yes, sarcastic, but its like the way to hott chick your hittin from the rear, its over way to quick...you get my point.

    i have Patriot Stage II Ls6 heads (2.02"int/1.57"ext) @ 59cc. my C/R is 11.5:1

    flow (directly off their website):

    .550 lift: 295 int/ 226 ext
    .600 lift: 304 int/ 229 ext

FYI i had 4.11s in my 2000 T/A and always used 1st. 3.90s are fun though too

I'm so close to stock, I can still take off in third

I really want a head/cam package....if I can get a few more bills paid over the next year, I'm pulling the trigger. my 203k motor and rear will just have to deal with it (and I'm sure they will )

To the OP, those are great numbers for that setup. Good luck, and hope your rear holds up until you can beef it up.

That's relatively small in my book, since GM used cams with much more duration than that in the 60's.

That 228 would make a nice daily driver cam with just a little chop. Good driveability.

I don't understand why people are saying that. These T56's only have a 2.66 first gear,,,it's not like it's all that steep. Not like you're running a crappy 3.01 first gear like the new camaros have in the TR6060.

With a 2.66 first gear,,,,you really need more rear gear to help get it moving, especially with a cam.
    Shucks, I run both a 2.54 muncie and a 2.20 muncie with 4.88's, it's a pleasure to drive.

That is no where near huge. That is pretty close to what I had in my T/A. Its a good cam, will be streetable and still churn out some decent power at a decent rpm range but it is far from huge.
