i wouldn't be surprised if a vehicle had 6. so the Z has 2 cats? i thought the exhaust joined at the Y pipe, went through 1 cat and one muffler, then split into 2 tips

'95 was the last year they were single-cat and OBDI, except for CA cars. in '96 that's when they came out with OBDII and dual cats...
