    Is your ls1 blown? Because a ls6 is still a 5.7liter

Its still in the car now until i get a new one. The work it would take to fix it would be close to what a new one is. In a nut shell in needs a new bottom end maybe some head work.

Well if you want to keep the engine stock the nthe ls6 is def your best choice for a replacement. But if your ls1 block si still usuable you could get a forged stroker rotating assembly and a nice set of lightly used heads(stock or aftermarket) for close to the same price.

Yea but why not go for the LS2. Its alittle more money that i dont mind spending. That way later on down the road i could do a 402 or 403 stroker motor.

If you got the money go for it, just wasn't sure what your budget was, I would say ls3 but then how much money do you have

LOL! Oh i looked at one and when i saw the price i knew that it was way out of my budget. But if your your going big do it right and get a LS7. Wonder if the old man would pay the for the rest if i put in 6k? HAHA!

Why go iron block if all he wants is a new engine. Hes not building a twin turbo setup or spraying a 300 shot. I dont know why people love iron blocks soo much, i know guys making 1700hp on alum big blocks.

Iron block is cheaper and all he needs is a short block not a long block because all stock accessories swap directly over. Way cheaper than an ls2 long block
