    back in the day it was mostly just engine options. i cant recall but i know one may have a 327, one may have the 350, one may have a 396 4 speed. i dont know because i have forgotten all that jazz. the ls1 is whats on my mind.

    Thats true, I just wish they would use the engine I have in my Xtreme so I can have some muscle car heritage in my S-10 lol

    the 4.3 is a strong engine. i has an 02 zr2 5 speed and i loved that truck with all my heart. it was a runner. they can move when they are on regular rubber, i had the 31s and it slowed it down quite a bit. but you could always turbo the 4.3 if you feel the need. been done before.....

    Back in the day (1st gens) the Z28 was a handling package for the Trans Am series race track. The motor of choice was a high reving 302 because of the motor size limit in SCCA was 5.0. It didn't have the hp as the LT1's or the big block but it could rev to 7k easily which is what you wanted in a Trans Am type track. Z28's also added the option of 4wheel discs and other handling options not offered on the SS such as bigger roll bars etc. And the numbers produced were smaller than the SS's so that is why they are more desirable. Especially an original DZ302 car. It's worth more than any optioned SS anyday.
