Back In Time
'69 Camaro
Ken Mccullough
Mt. Juliet, TN
As a 19-year-old in 1979, Ken purchased his '69 Camaro for a paltry 700 clams. Since then, the motor has been bored 0.030 over, uses a 284 Power Max Crane Cam with a Weiand Stealth intake manifold, and gets fueled by a 650cfm Holley up top. For exhaust, headers coated by Jet-Hot and a set of Flowmaster American Thunder series mufflers expel the spent fumes. Ken estimates the power to be around 350 hp, and as for his plans: drive it every chance he gets.
Monthly Dues
'70 Monte Carlo
Chris Walters
River Grove, IL
It's big, it's fast, and it's flat-out evil. This full-body Monte drags its way to a low 11-second pass without flinching. Chris made sure to stick to the basics by punching out his 502 to 509 inches. For the rotating assembly, he added JE pistons with Eagle rods. For the extra go power, a Nitrous Works system was added to the mix. All said and done, these goodies are good enough to make just shy of 700 hp on pump gas. He even added QA-1 adjustables on all four corners, but left the remainder of the suspension stock. Even with 4.11:1 gears in his 12-bolt rearend, it still gets driven two to three days a week and goes into kill mode during grudge nights.
Like A Fine Wine
'68 Impala Conv.
Colin & Robyn Pick
Blackstock, Ontario, Canada
Colin and Robyn Pick are proud to be the third owners of this all-original '68 Impala. They purchased it two years ago after deciding that their '68 Chevelle was a bit too noisy. While the 307 was replaced, the Impala's currently powered by a 300hp, 327ci small-block and still utilizes the original factory Powerglide transmission. Plans include plenty of cruises and car shows; and, seeing as this Impala's a convertible, who wouldn't be jealous?
Never Enough
'69 Camaro
Randy Arborio
Burlington, CT
Randy's Camaro started as a Valentine's Day gift from his better half after he had a motorcycling accident. Fast-forward three years and the original 307 has been lifted in favor of a small-block 350. Inside spins a 268 Comp Cam 'stick that's topped with a pair of Vortec heads and an Edelbrock performer intake manifold. A four-speed is used to bang gears, while out back a 3.42:1 posi 10-bolt rearend was swapped in from a donor '74 Nova. Suspension duties are left to polyurethane bushings all around with Eibach springs, Competition Engineering frame connectors, and a thick 11/8-inch sway bar. The rear features the factory leaf springs with Lakewood traction bars. Nice present!

Rollin' In Retirement
'67 Chevelle SS
Bobby Reynolds
Big Island, VA
For Bobby Reynolds, retirement is in full effect, and he wants nothing more to do than to cruise the streets in his all-original '67 Chevelle SS. Powering the 'Velle is a 396 ci that's topped with an Edelbrock manifold and a Holley 750cfm carburetor, generating 325 hp on nuts alone. We love the fact that he's still rowing gears with the original Muncie four-speed transmission. Inside, Bobby's got the factory interior and the bucket seats to boot!
