Center exit exhaust

Is the '02 SS the only car that comes with center exit exhaust. I have seen it on 1 that I test drove and really liked the looks of it. Or can it be put on any Camaro? Please dont think I'm dumb for asking. Thanks for the help.

It was an option on the 02 only as far as I know. I found a CME system on ebay 3 years ago and it cost me some $...but now they are somewhat cheaper.

Center mount exhausts were actually available as far back as 1999 SS's (not sure if they were available before that). The 99 and 00 versions look different than the 01 and 02 models. I have one on my 2000 convertible. It has 4 tips (two seperate mufflers) coming out the center of the car, kind of looks like the CME that is on the C5 corvettes. The 01 and 02's have just two (but larger) tips coming out the center.
The option is pretty rare to find since it was an option you had to order from the dealer when you ordered the car, than you had to wait for SLP to add the option on to a factory stock SS. I'm not sure, but I think SS's with the loudmouth dual-dual exhaust (four tips) could be found right off the dealer's lot, without having to special order it.

I test drove a '02 SS that I fell love with but was in the middle of my TA build. Im still looking for a m6 project car and was really looking for an '02. The car I test drove had the basic bolt-ons with a M6. It was a load of fun. It had the center exhaust and a nasty growl.

Yeah, they're louder than hell! Be careful around certain police when you drive with one of these on your car, cops have been known to hand out noise ordinance tickets on these exhausts if you take off full throttle. TranAms are nice though, I really wish chevy would've used the nice interiors on the Camaros that Pontiac put in the T/A's.

lol, any slp option is a special order item, no car came straight from gm with any of these options, please dont feel dumb for asking we have all had to learn this from somebody,

there is a difference between quad exhaust and center mount exhaust, both look different and both require different valences,.
