You'll want non gutted cuts with a Loudmouth exhaust. Might possibly get rasp, but not quite sure until you hear it really. It's hard to find places to install headers because most muffler/exhaust shops don't around where I am considering most of them "break the law". If you happen to find a place that will install some, I'd say the labor alone would be around $300-$400 if I could take a guess. Cheap headers can be a pain to install due to fitting issues.

Shops all charge different rates. I have seen prices from $300 up to $1100 for header installs. It would be better to call your local shops and ask them instead of us setting here and guessing.
Header installs are really not hard on an LS1, there are several good write ups in the external area that walk you through how to install headers. Maybe you could find a friend or two that would be willing to help you.

Just out of curiousity, what type of shops actually install headers? Just your regular mechanical repair shops, or specific part upgrades shops?
