If it was a real SS, why the hell would you swap your stock hood for an LT-1 SS look?

There is a difference Spikito, the LT1 SS hood has a much wider appearance with an almost square like opening. When you open the hood the biggest difference is apparent, as the ram air box for the LT1's are completely different and won't function on an LS1 car.
When you watch the video, it most definately looks like the LT1 SS hood on an LS1 car.

Intentionally getting the car squirly on a 2 lane road with trees on each side isn't the brightest idea...

Other than that, it's a pretty cool video.

Sweet car. Although, I think the video is kinda gay. It's the whole stopping and smoking cigs thing. Idk...just seems kinda pointless in a video that's showcasing a nice hotrod. Just my opinion though. Does make me wanna drive my car though.

That's the first thing that popped in my mind too. Well that and the fact that he's missing a grill

Those trees tend to jump out at you, not a bright idea when you're driving a ditch hunter.

Well besides all that, the other thing that popped out in my mind is deer. Looks to be a forest preserve of some sort. Typically that's where a lot of deer reside. Going that fast and a deer jumping out in front of you would probably be deadly.

yea video was well put together and had its corny parts like the smoking part but the best thing i can come up with is that it is such a nice car he wants to stop and smoke out of it.

Also the hood looks like it might be a suncoast creations my brother has that and its defintely bigger than a normal ss. Really though who cars if it a real SS or not, not trying to be a dick but anything can be a SS.

Oh I know, the guy above me was saying the guy in the video put an LT1 SS hood on his car, I was pointing out that that would be impossible

Aftermarket makes repop hoods for the 98 up cars to match the body lines, with the 97 style SS scoop, so it's doable.

I'm not 100% sure about the car in the video, but it sure does appear to have a 97 style SS scoop, unless it's my wide computer screen playing tricks on me.

It's not your screen. It's definitely not a stock hood.

I didn't say he put an LT1 hood on an LS1 car, I was saying that flare style is the LT1 style. RK Sport makes a hood like that for the 98-02 Camaros.. My peeve is when people badge Camaros with SS emblems when they are not.. I have an SS hood and Spoiler but Z badges, cause it is.. that's all

That's what I noticed too. Cool video. I am sure most of us would jump at a chance to have one made for us.

    Heres what I've never understood.

If you notice, as soon as he punches it, he leaves a nice trail of black lines on the road.

Of all the getting sideways I have done, I have never left marks on the road....

I've left some pretty nice patches on street tires before out of first gear. Don't recall ever doing so once I was already cruising around though. Then again, I've never did a U-turn to go see. The one race against the Mustang several years back we both took off at a light and I was literally smoking the tires all the way through 1st and 2nd...so in that instance I just had to go back and look. From what I recall, there was about a good 100-150' or so of patch marks.
