    Not to be rude....

but if it's a 1993 through 2002 SS spoiler, and your car is a 1998 which falls between those years I would say yes...

However I would just look for a 98-02 SS spoiler...

The Z28 spoiler is the same from 93-02. The 96-97 SS spoiler will fit 93-02 and so will the 98-02 SS spoiler.

Actually to be correct the spoilers are not the same from 93-02.

The LT1 SS spoilers did not have the pedastals in the middle, where as the LS1 from 98-02 SS spoilers do.

However they will physically bolt on, just won't be exactly correct depending on the year.

No sir,,,,,the SS spoilers for the LT1 cars which would have actually been 96-97 I believe, (since they didn't have SS's from 93-95 if memory serves) are without the support pedastals in the middle.

Only the 98-02 SS's had these pedastals to be correct.

I'm not saying they won't fit,,,,they will bolt right on any 4th gen,,,,it's just not technically correct for the earlier years.

You neglected to mention the differences in the SS spoilers though, and I wanted to make that clear to the original poster.
That ad in the link makes it appear that the pedestal spoiler is for all year SS's. They do fit,,,,,but,,,,,

Very nice, that makes things much easier than trying to explain it. Thanks

I should have been a little clearer. I have a 98 z28 and want to put a ss spoiler on it. Just was wondering if the spoilers are the same from 93 and up?

Are there bolt holes for the two center posts to bolt on also or do they just sit on the deck lid on the ss?

The center supports just appear to be resting on the decklid,,,no bolts go through there.

Yes the SS spoilers physically bolt on and fit fine on any year 4th gen. Your 98 is the first year the SS's started using the pedestals in the center.

If I'm not mistaken I think that is the only aftermarket SS spoiler available right now?????

No bolts holding the two center braces to the hatch for the 98-02 SS spoiler?

Nope, I had mine off of my 02 SS last year and it didn't have any. I haven't had the spoiler off of my wifes 2000 SS but I would assume the same thing.

The aftermarket SS Spoliers have bolt holes through the pedestals.

Yes but the question was do the factory equipped SS cars have the pedestals bolted down,,,,and I answered that mine do not. There are no holes there in the factory spoiler or the decklid.

Now I have removed my SS spoiler from the 02 and installed an aftermarket SS spoiler. That did have some sort of holes in the pedestals but I filled them in before paint. I don't believe they were there for fastening down to the decklid since there were no reinforcement on the inside and no way to screw a bolt in there,,,,you can't get to the other side of it to install a nut. My thoughts are that maybe they just come out of the mold that way.

the holes in the center pedistals to allow for any moisture that might form on the inside to drain out, only aftermarket ones has these.

any SS spoiler either the LT1 style (96-97) and/or the LS1 style (98-02) WILL FIT ANY YEAR CAMARO FROM 93-02.

    Differences:

LT1 SS spoiler has no center pedistals and has just the raised lip on the spoiler. the 3rd brake light hangs down below like the regular spoilers (v6/z28 cars came equipped with).

LS1 SS spoiler has the 2-center pedistals and the 3rd brake light is integrated into the spoiler and is an LED buld equipped light bar, and has a slightly more raised and aggressive lip to it than the LT1 SS spoiler.

now that this is been established, this thread can die...
