Ok well ive been price shopping. and so far my total repair is at $1027 that gets me:

    initial towing and inspection.
    Air bags
    Air bag sensors
    Dash
    2 Rims
    K-Member
    Oil Pan
    Lower Control Arms

i got my car towed to my mechanics, they put it on the lift, assessed the damage, and remounted my tires. They also attempted a few minor repairs to get it rolling again. They charged me a little for it, not bad though.

my most expensive item as of now is the two rims, shipped for $375, and the dash at $200

The damage looks a lot worse that the cost. Good luck with the rebuild, I hope you don't run into any unforseen problems.

people keep saying that...but the point is, i cant afford anything new. Ive been out of work for 6 months. JUST started my new job, wrecked my car the day after i got my first pay check. So i literally have no money...sold everything i can to get by the last few months.

I can't get a loan, even if i did, I cant afford to pay it back, and I cant afford the full coverage insurance required on financed vehicles. But if i can fix this one for a thousand, and my family is willing to help pay.....

my dad is a mechanic, kind of. and we have a friend of the family is a very good mechanic, recently retired, plus another who is a body shop guy, both offered to help out.

between that, and the help ive gotten on here, I think Im going with my best option. not the easiest, but the most reasonable

    Damn it guys this sucks!!

Ill hopefully tear into the car on tuesday...really see the damage. So far ive only spent $250 on it. that should get me to the point that I know whether or not to invest the remaining 800 or so needed.

Yall know what steering components could get damaged from denting a K-member. Theres also that spot where the back side of the right lower control arm thats mashed in....will that damage anything else? or can that just be pulled out? my body shop guy has a tool for doing that.

actually yeah, I've considered it, but knowing me, I'd want a nice one, and I would be unhappy with what I could afford, and I's be in the same position I am with driving a V6 camaro

Dude -from the looks of things- you don't need any more power than a v6.

Spitiko, just repair what you can afford and make the car dirveable. Once you graduate and get some good $$$ you can:

a-restore your car to its glory

    or

    b-get a Z,SS, or 2010.

    My .02.

    thats my plan.

Im looking at finding a nice SS...I hate to admit it, but I like the way they look. And build it from the ground up. Ive been on here for 2 years and still have another year to go. Im confident that with enough patience I can do something good and do it right.

If its low mileage great, If not, im thinking LQ9. Dont know what it is about it, it just seems stout and solid.

Right now, with the V6 is all a big learning experience.

So someone else brought the idea up...started looking into it. Found a 99 CBR 600 F4 on ebay, 24k miles, painted solid white, $2500. financing for 3 years would be under 100 a month. insurance was way fucking high, $230 a month, for full coverage. but if i could have it paid for, its only $33 a month.

I called my mom, she flipped the fuck out. There's not much she can do about it if I wanted to do it. But she can do just enough to make it not worth it.

    edit:

I guess i might as well eleaborate. When i graduated highschool, i got a big student loan, 75K, i pay interest on whatever I use....which its not really a lump sum, its more like a $75K line of credit, but anyway. my interest payments are about $115 a month. we agreed shed pay interest until i graduate, then the principle is up to me. My cell phone is on a family plan with her, my sister, and granparents. So my cell bill is only like $15 a month, but thats cuz I'm with her, not on my own. And she pays my car insurance because my car, her car, and our house are all insured together, I don't even know how much it is.

Now if had the bike, the insurance wouldnt be the issue cuz the camaro would be gone, but then im sure i'd be on my own phone wise, and I bet shed stop with the student loan help...those two have me out $150 a month, plus I'd be picking up probably $200 a month. That's adding $350 a month to my load. I only make about $1000 a month, and thatll drop once school starts.

Gotta keep moms happy. they can make life hell. and I guess it all depends on what bank you finance through, but the few bikes I've had, I was told unless i had financed over 6k, all i had to carry was liability. so, dunno.
