Bought BBK TB. Plate is drilled out?
Picked up a BBK 80mm TB on Ebay. Showed up today and there is a maybe an 1/8 inch whole drilled out in the throttle plate. Did the previous owner do this to up the idle? Is it going to be safe to use or should I aquire a new plate? Just confused why someone would do this.

Stock, the TB should have a hole in it... Shouldn't hurt anything. If the hole seems bigger than normal it's probably because the previous owner had a cam...

Good to know.. Have never actually taken a look at the stock LS1 TB. I have swapped TBs on many make make/model cars and had never came across one w/ the plate drilled. Was concerned.

2002 Z28 A4 NBM- Sadly now demodded :(
Used to drill holes in the throttle plates on Holley carbs to get a big cam to idle back in the day.
