body side molding

Guys, I really want to yank off this molding. Only thing is, this car is 8 yrs old and I am worried about paint discoloration. Has anyone tried this with an older car and how did it look?

I have done it and did a write up in the appearance forum on how to do it. I know of a lot of people that have done it with only a handful that had problems with discolored paint.

Thanks for the write up. I think it's a no brainer, though.

I'm just worried about the paint discoloration. I'm gonna get at it here soon.

you negate to tell us the color of your car. i really dont think you'll have any issues, just go slow. hell my car is 7 years old and i removed mine last month...

my car is 12 years old and you cant even tell they were on there, the only thing i regret is not taking the molding off sooner than i did

I finally got around to doing it late last night and it's raining right now, so no pics yet. I'll get them up within the next 2 days.

I did notice that there was a slight line where the BSM used to be that the clay bar couldn't get out. I'll run the buffer over it sometime soon to see how that goes.

Oh, by the way, I didn't have any discoloration.

I do like it! I can't wait for all of this rain to move out so I can clean it up.
