Hed probably be better off picking fights with the import websits. After all, that is the food of choice for Mustangs- rice.

They all are good years. Each year has some advantages and disadvantages. 99's are the only hugger orange for the newer cars. 96 97 just looks mean. LS1's are just faster.

Here's another vote for the '01-'02 if you can afford it.

Okay well six months ago i found my baby. She is a black, 2000 SS....I love her! I got a great deal. she has 43K mileage perfect body, perfect interiour w/ a 2 year bumper to bumper warranty and my total price was $11,400........Not bad at all.......I'd def go w/an SS (2000 model if possible) you wont have any of the above described problems....

i dont think it is really worth it to worry about getting just an 01 or 02 for the intake if you plan on doing some modifications anyway you could just buy that badass fast intake or another brand, but would probably want to stay with a 99 and up

The 98's pcm is a demon, they have only recently made proper tuning software for them. If your gonna leave it stock then 01 or 02 if your gonna mod the shit outta it then anything is cool. Just get an LS1, not an LT1 imo.

instead of banning him can we just replace his title where it says "permanently banned" to "permanent tool bag".. thatd be funnier to see in the forums

As for the best year theres no question .. they saved the best for last... Itll be the most desired later on in years as well because of it being the last of the SS and Camaro as well.... so Im sure yes they might go down in value now but 20 years from now people will be looking all over for one.

I mean what more can you say .. the front of this car "the SS" is fucking mean looking .. agressive stance.. you see it and the tear drop functional ram air .. unlike mustangs which have it for appearance.. flying up in your rearview .. basically saying "move bitch get out the way get out the way bitch get out the way" famous words by Luda...

I wanted one ever since they brought it back out in 96. My first car was an 86 Iroc-Z back in 1992. Ive been hooked on them ever since .. In 2001 I ordered mine in July .. I'll never forget the day I picked mine up. It was one day after the world trade center tragedy with the planes. Alot of people drive imports but I have a piece of american heritage. Pure muscle and everytime I get in it its like seeing you're one true love after being apart for a while. It embraces you .. Its an extension of me and who I am. When I see another one on the road even if its not loaded I still admire it.

As for the piston slap .. yes it sucks .. but it doesnt effect the power or performance and like someone else said .. it only does it on mine until it warms up.. The engine is famouse for it though. Alot of guys I know at the dealership said others have the same issue.

Best of luck if you get one

I like my 98. I took it to the track and ran 13.98 with it on a 2.4 60ft granny shifting 3rd lol. So I know there are low 13's in it. You figure on a 1.8 60ft your cuting off .6 tenths right there. do the math on that .6 x .15 = .9 tenths at the end of the track.. Thats a 13.08 and then figure that I granny shifted 3rd.. hell, could be a high 12 sec car. Id suggest just waiting for a good deal. You will be happy with any ls1 you get. I waited a year to buy mine. I found this one for $12,500 with less than 50k miles on her. I wanted an automatic but could not pass this deal up!
