Best Way To Clean Engine Compartment

I just bought my 99 SS and the engine compartment is pretty dirty. Was wondering what the best way to clean it up would be without hurting anything. Thanks.

I roll mine out onto the driveway. Soak it down with Simple Green and spray it off with the hose. Obviously don't do this with a hot motor. Also, I steer clear of the filter area.

just remeber if you have HID's that are not made for your car I.E. they are stolen out of an audi, nissan, or acura... the ballasts and ignitor are ment to be inside the headlight, hence, they shouldnt get wet... learned that the hard way.... however, 99 percent or aftermarket ones will withstand water... due to the fact that the company knows they ballast and ignitor will be exposed in the engine compartment.... just a little info...

best tip i can give to shine up everything without using a armarall spray bottle is to use the armerall can of WIPES. you can control where it goes and leave less of a mess in the end to clean up.

+theres alot of plstic under the hood to shine expessially when a show comes up

White and Orange Gunk engine cleaner on a warm motor works well. Just spray the whole can on you motor and let it soak for 10 mins then hose it off with running water (not high pressure water). I let mine dry and then spray tire foam on it. It really comes out good.
