Best Power Moment?
I just bought an 00 SS with a six speed. You know how when you first buy a car like that all of your buddies want to ride in it and see what it has and stuff. Well I was just wondering when you guys think the camaro feels like its got the most get up and go? Like when your in second gear and at about 3000 rpm and then gun it or what?

one time I took a couple of my brother's friends for a ride when they asked me how fast my car was. I have the car tuned and the shift points adjusted, and I pulled onto a street and punched it, and then when it down shifted itself the wheels broke loose going 40. my brother's friends were giggling like school girls. haha

Don't gun it out of a turn or they won't be impressed and you'll be pissed. Not sayin you'd do it, but have seen it happen to new guys with their cars before.

If your car isn't burnin 2nd there is something wrong...
And physics 101: heavy front end + light rearend taken to the 300th (horse)power = fishtailing like you wouldn't believe.
And for those of you (me included) who haven't had extensive, maybe government, training about how to regain control of a vehicle: you will be in trouble.
I prefer to keep my full-throttle shenanigans at a straight line vector.Last edited by Fbody4ever; 07-24-2008 at 08:44 PM.

sorry I got all technical-, I had calculus today.
AS for your clutch, I will pass along a pearl of wisdom I received from somone on this forum: It is not your clutch, it is your master cylinder and the pressure line to the slave cylinder. Do a search of this forum, or the web, on 4th gen clutch hydraulics. You will learn a lot, and save a lot of $.
When you are done you should be ably to roast 1st, burn 2nd, and chirp 3rd. It sounds like your clutch has been slipping for a while...what kinda MPG do you get?Last edited by Fbody4ever; 07-24-2008 at 08:53 PM.

crappy mpg, maybe 18. I think the clutch plates are worn out thought. Like when im in 5th or 6th gear and put it to the floor you can watch the tach go up about 2000 rpm's and then drop back down and then the car will finally start to accelerate.

power in our cars is 3-7k RPM so anywhere in there will impress your friends. or just rolling up with tunder behind you will do so as well.
