With all my mods (410 rwhp through a 9"), and daily driving my car with 4.30's I still get 23-26 MPG. 4.10's might drop your milage 2-3 MPG if you drive the same way. It's easy to get less because you will be haveing a lot more fun with the car. But if you drive conserveably, you won't notice that big of a difference.

    With 4.30's on the highway in 6th I turn 1950 rpm's @ 65 and 2050-2100 RPM's @ 75.

I would suggest Motive Performance gears. I would buy the gears, and master rebuild kit. You are looking around $500 for parts and labor. ($300 parts, $200 labor)

you can use shorty headers i am pretty sure someone in cali has the right setup btw the best mods i think are headers/stall converter/ nitrous but for bang for the buck i would get long tubes, lid and a tune and will put you easily 12.80 in the 1/4

    Or get a tornado

I agree with Y2KArcticSS... It is useless buying an aftermarket MAF when your stock one is fine enough untill like 500 rwhp+ I made the mistake of getting an SLP MAF and it gave me problems. Threw the SES code all the time, and you have to use a programmer/code reader to change things if you do install an aftermarket MAF. After I put the stock one back in though everything seems fine agian, and the SES code automatically shut off. Not to mention when I put the SLP MAF on it seemed like my car was running richer... I do recommend the smooth bellow, and the SLP lid. I have both on my car and I can definatly see the gains of having them. I also use a K&N airfilter for the lid. As the rest of everyone else said...do the exhaust system to make it better flowing. I personally have the 3" Dynatech headers w/ 3" Borla exhaust system, but I heard Kooks, and American are also good brands too. SLP, and Pacesetter I haven't heard too much good out of. When you do the intake also remember to do the throttle body too. I use a 80mm BBK, and it works great...hope this helps!

When I do the LID do the throttle body too? Why? And what gains do I get from that?

You don't have to, the lid will allow for more and better air flow into your intake. If you upgrade your throttle body to a bigger size, same principle, allowing for more air flow into your engine.

I was just curious why if you change the lid you do throttle body. How much do decent TB's cost?

I bought the car with the BBK TB.. I think the owner did it just to increase the size of airflow. I think the BBK TB was like $300...not sure about other brands and their prices. Maybe someone else on the site would know, or you could Google it I assume...

Well, if you do go the header route, don't waste your money on shorty headers....pointless.... I think Dynatech has a decent set of mid-lengths? Back me up Konig

I am not familiar with them at all.... sorry T

Can't you get long tubes with high flow cats and still pass emmissions tests? Damn you Cali and your stupid hippie laws! Like Arctic said, don't waste your money on shorties, just get yourself an excellent catback I guess...
