I like the upgrade from 3rd to 4th gens too, but the IROC was faster. I haven't really started any mods on my current car tho so it's only a matter of time.
well dont leave me hangin here what did you have done to the 3rd gen IROC?

dont worry mod fever will bite and bite hard...

I put a ZZ4 Motor in it, if your not familiar it's just a iron block, aluminum head motor. And a 5-Speed Borg-werner. It was originally an Auto and someone blew the tranny and the motor was on it's last leg. the body was in such good shape tho i couldn't see it go to waste. So my dad helped me put in the motor and tranny (4 years ago). It ran great the whole time i had it. Just didn't have air conditioning. Otherwise fully loaded. But it was just time for an upgrade. If the bank would have financed me the way i wanted i would have got a '69, or a 70-73. But they said i had to get a car that was '96 or newer. Bastard bank.

your old IROC sounded pretty healthy. those zz4's are strong runners and a good 350ci replacement motor...

Yea, after what i put that motor through to run so good when i got rid of it. My dad also has that motor in his '72 Z but he has better engine components so it's faster than the IROC even tho i think The IROC was lighter.

How (technically) does ASR traction control work? Does it cut spark, cut fuel, ride the brakes...?

I know it works pretty well, but want to understand HOW.

    Thanks for your insight
    ASR has three layers:
    1) spark retard
    2) throttle relax (pedal kickback)
    3) brake apply

Good call on the divin, saw that earlier today online and thought of this post. Does just the opposite of what the factory does, leaves it off till u turn it on.

I do have one question about this thing that maybe someone on here can answer. If anybody out there is using this already, does it disable the TCS OFF light in your cluster or does that just stay on until you turn the tcs on?

I was gonna pick it up, but I dont really want that light on inside my cluster the whole time.

Good question. That's the same reason I didn't get one a long time ago. That light would be annoying.
