any tips on using the K&N recharger kit ?

This is a discussion on any tips on using the K&N recharger kit ? within the Camaro / SS forums, part of the Vehicle Specific category; just bought it never used it know someone said not to soak it to much or something...thanks 4 any tips...

    Go extremely light with the oil Randy. You also want to let the oil dry real well before you re-install. The oil can mess up the MAF if it gets to it.

    should I wait like over a weekend to re-install ?

    I'll be cleaning mine on sunday. gotta buy the cleaner. I looked at my filter today and it's black with rock/bugs/fur stuck in it. it's pretty gross.

    haha, sorry, I'm fine with what I have, but black is awesome. and to the stance deal, I can't lower my car, since it barely makes it up my driveway as it is. : (

    I used to have two K&N's so I always had a clean one and could take the time to clean/dry the other, that is before I got tired of cleaning them and realized they offer no performance advantage and don't clean as efficiently and got rid of em.
