Chances are it will use the exact same platform as the new Pontiac G8, with the LS2 367 horse engine. Though the G8 will not be available in an M6 for the first year of production, who knows about the Camaro. They are talking about 5 different engines for the car and possibly 3 transmissions. It may be wise to wait a year after it comes out to see any significant changes in the lineup. I think the LS2 400hp is out of the question at first. They say we should be waiting until the spring of 09. But like junky said, they change everything so much who knows.....stay tuned kids!

i guess they said they plan on a vert, one came out to so cal, it was a one off car, but the y will offer a vert in 2010 i think,

dude think about it, it 65 when john dalorean and a few others thought up and designed the first camaro do you think they thought there would be a 2010... crazy shit huh

come on man, chevy figures to keep the insurance costs down you keep the power down, and the money you save there you can fix up your car as you wish ya know, but i figure it will have the ls3 in it which is 400 horse, i say conservatively 350 to the ground,,

and do you think chevy will let ford out do them with the gt, please gt aint even a competitor since the 4.6l

been reading up on the G8 and that 6.0 that puts down 367 horse is on 87 octane....rumor has it with a tune ONLY for 93 it should be pushing 400...intake/exhaust...tune... 420? sounds reasonable

Maybe a base if they have a base model V8. Expect at least an LS3 for the SS or Z28 option and the LS9 in the high end model. Look at Camaro history as of late the Camaro has ALWAYS had the base vette motor available to it. With the current HP war do you honestly ecpect any less than 400 on a performance model?

I dont think that Chevy will ever let the GT beat it ever again. There was a short period of time on the 80's and I think they learned their lesson.

funny they had some of the highest sales ever back in the 80s though..those iroc's were EVERYWHERE .....think there priority is sales not beating mustangs down the track..lol ....but i agree it would be a mistake to make it slower than the GT with the up and coming camaro

well, a gto is on 245 tires, cant hook has irs suspension, weighs too much and looks like a grand am, the last part of course is my opinion, but the gto is a stupid astraulian sedan, and they have only 55 more RATED hp then my 02 does stock for stock,

there is a reason they already stopped making them, because gm didnt want to ruin the gto name anymore with that car, so they stopped it and are now gonna call it the g8,

hey man dont get crazy, all the things i said about the gto were pure truth, its on pos 245 tires, weighs too much and is a australian sedan with irs,

dont get me wrong they do ride nice thats about it, i cant remember the last time a "muscle" car was credidted on how nice it rode,

other than the fact that two of my good friends has an 06 6.0 that my bone stock camaro walks all over, and he is even an auto trans,\\

i even borrowed his car for a weekend cause he borrowed my 99ss
he came back and said he wished he had boughten an f body because the gto's are a joke stock.
