am i CRAZY?!?
one of my younger bro's has a badass '68 rs 327 bored to 350, headers, dumped tru duel flows, cam and stall(his daily driver). i was talking to him the other day and he was saying he was wanting to sell it/trade it for a newer vette. granted the new vettes are badass, dont get me wrong i would love to have one one day, i said he was crazy. i said his car is too rare to get rid of. how many 1st gen camaros do u see on a daily basis compared to new vettes. i told him to hold off on a vette till he can afford both. but if he does decide to sell it i told him i want it and more than likely will piss the wife off and get a loan and buy it lol. anyone else think im crazy?

I have 1 question: Just how do you "bore" a 327 to a 350?????????
Hint: see below for answer....
As I happen to own a 67 RS/SS I don't think you're crazy.
A: You don't as they are the same bore. You "stroke" a 327 to get a 350..... BUT you can't do it with an early block. I leave it up to you to research why.

Pewter metallic- 2000 Camaro SS
You better buy it if its up for sale
I want a new Vette BADLY, but you get 1 maybe 2 chances if you are lucky to own a 1st gen Camaro. He will regret it if he ditches it.

That would depend on what he's asking for it and what options it has as well as how much of it is original. These cars are going for rediculous amounts of green these days even though the prices are depressed from last year.
FYI: Of the 3 year 1st gen run 68's are the easiest to clone as the trim tag has nothing but exterior color and interior trim/color on it.
Also: The one that I currently have is the 10th 1st gen I've had. I kept it cuz it has options that most 67's don't: How many have you seen with power windows?Last edited by 67CamaroRSSS; 05-22-2008 at 04:58 PM.

[QUOTE=Boomer Sooner;1480595]Do you know which block he has? If it's an 010 block then it isn't the original as they weren't in use til 1969. All 010 blocks used 2.45" mains. All 657 blocks (327) were 2.20" mains in 67 and earlier but were increased to 2.45" mains for 68 . 68 657 blocks are pretty rare.
It's probably a 678 if it's the original engine block as this is what replaced the 657.Last edited by 67CamaroRSSS; 05-22-2008 at 05:59 PM.

the guy across the street from him has a blue Chevelle SS, one of their neighbors has a '57 vette, and on the backside of our block is a guy with a shebly mustang, looks like a '66, theres also a 94Z thats badass, and a Lambo. thats all i can think of right now lol.

I don't think your crazy, if i had a First Gen I would never trade it in for any Vette. Vette's are a dime a dozen, the last time I seen a first gen. was a week ago after a long ass time. If he still wants to sell/trade in I would buy it off him. He might let it go for a little cheaper since he is your younger bro.
