A4 vs M6

Can someone explain the difference between the A4 and the M6? Also, how would one go about determining which you have?

A4 is automatic 4 speed. M6 is manual 6 speed.

hey, 67camarorsss, how does the auto compare to the 6 speed, i have a 02 with a m6 but was thinking of getting a second on with an a4 for the wife, how does it feel power wise compared to the m6

In my case the A4 car is modded and the M6 car is stock. Stock for stock you probably wouldn't notice much difference provided they were the same year. If you're really good at shifting, the stock M6 car would probably take the A4 car, at least out of the hole.

Although all LS1's are virtually the same, different years used different cams, exhaust manifolds and intakes.

As the M6 car is my DD I find myself using the A4 car on the weekend and automatically reaching for the clutch to start the car because of the NSS. I sometimes find myself wanting to shift the auto or take it out of gear when I come to a stop. When I shut it off I feel for the button on the key switch that isn't there. Little stuff like that.

Otherwise they are pretty much the same.

honestly not much of a real difference ive felt between my car and a friends but if your a regular driver and your playing around you could probably miss third and hit fifth on accident, whereas all you have to do in an a4 all you have to do is get the launch right. but when he was similar in mods we both went back and fourth but now he leaves me like nothing but i decided to buy a house and he went for the speed. so his money basically goes to the car and mine goes to bills lol. but the modding will be revived hopefully after the next raise.
