dude put up $500 on it, you got him, our cars came with 305hp factory the gt's came with like 240hp tops!!! and its a convertable and a stick.

i have driven a saleen, and it was an auto, the thing quit on me when it reached about 80mph, and didnt have much power i thought. i thought my 99 z28 had much more power then the saleen

U'll take him, I got a buddy that has a 01 built mustang I raced him and bet him by a car that because he took off early. The stock built is a little faster then the gt, his is a 5speed coupe lighter then a drop top. I have a 02 Z auto. Both cars are stock for now. Put some money on it and ur friend will be cry after u run off and leave that mustang.

ohh man now u guys are getting me exicted about this..i cant wait..im at work rite now but when i get off ill order my tranny mount and then its on..now i saw a tranny mount at auto zone but its a unversal 1 wich still fits a ls1 but it says some modification needed..does ne1 kno bout this and how good it is and what modification those are..should i jus order 1 online

This is going to be a pretty embarrasing "race". A GT automatic convertible.....that's like a 14.6-14.8 second car. Your's is probably a 13.8 second car I'd imagine....maybe faster. Now figure how much distance something is covering going 100-103mph for a count of...one-thousand-one...

a stick vs an auto in this case doesnt matter, a stick ls1 vs a auto ls1, stick would win (driving properly) but you have so much more hp on him it wont be å*challenge, just make sure you dont get any wheel spin

an LS1 has 300 to the wheels, ignore the factory 305 flywheel crap. A GT is lucky to put 240 to the wheels and we're talking about a vert. It should be no contest.

Take that boys money, treat yourself to free gas until this price rage is over! My co-worker has a 2003 GT vert. I ran him on the freeway. First he didn't bite then he di a fly by. I caught him at 120 and waved good-bye. This was on a up hill area of the freeway. Like I said take the boys money. Mines is a 02' Z28 vert w/ lid, flowmaster, ram air and power tuning(HPP)

The only stangs to worry about (if your running stock), are the Cobras. Those and Corvetts give me a little trouble in my V8 auto Camaro. About neck and neck, but I can't pass em. But just a reg. stang, heh heh,.. you'll smoke em ! Esp. with a m5!! Unless he can shift like a SOB, you'll leave him at the light and about two to three car lenghts when he finally catches up to you . Now if he owned a Cobra, I'd say you have a fifty fifty chance. But since thats not the case, he's owned . Do it!!

Which one is it? BTW, it's 260HP/302TQ for stock 99-04 GT's.
