'99 SS Differances?
I'm looking at a hardtop A4 SS later this week. What alterations were made in '99 that differentiate a Z/28 from an SS?
Thanks,
Mark

I have a silver 99 SS, and i have black mirrors. The rest of the cars have color coated mirrors. From 2000-02
This is only from GM, and not from SLP. Hope this helps.

Some good info there, but does anyone know what specifically was different between the Z/28 and the SS, other than the basic badging? I realize that a different exhaust was used, as well as 17" rims and tires, but were there suspension changes (exclusive of the 1LE option)? Anything else? Thanks for the responses, they're appreciated.

not sitting still, but it is said that they can add up to 30 hp once you are rolling, down low there isn't any significant gain

Isn't the opening on the ss hood above the intake manifold? How does it get the ram air effect if the filter is like 1 1/2 feet infront of the opening? I was thinking about getting the hood....but it looks like it's just for appearance. Now the ultra-z hood opening is above the lid...trying to decide on which to get. I like the looks of the ss hood more...but the ultra-z looks more functional

the ss has runners that take the air to the front. My friend put an SS hood on his and lost significant mileage, so it has to be functional. Looking at the bottom of a WS6 hood and an SS hood, teh SS actually seems that it would be more functional in my opinion

Yea I need a lot of stuff...how much are you selling the corners for? Oh and where did you find your grill...only one i've found so far is the slp one with the bowtie in the middle and a carbon fiber one that i'd get if it wasn't made out of carbon fiber

i don't have a grill currently installed? it says camaro under your grill too, don't know why they did that but they did lol. I have the factory one smoothed out so it isn't textured and we are painting it to match the top (my top isn't stock black it's metallic to match the car). A guy actually just emailed me that he was gonna paypal me in the morning for the corners, i am selling them for 25 bucks shipped, look at my thread in the parts for sale section its titled chrome halos trade for stock

the ram air hood works, but in my opinion the ram air kit that goes under the bumper mkaes more power. its a stright shot just about and a much bigger size. i own both (and both are installed) but the ss hood just doesn't give it the edge over other stock camaros, the kit did.
