    Talking 58K Maintenence???

    Hi guys,

I currently have a 01 M6 Z28 with 58k on it. I have changed the fuel filter and did a radiator flush this past August.

With spring approaching I was wondering if I needed to flush out my tranny fluid and likewise with my differential fluid.

I keep seeing this aamco power purge. Is that a good idea? And also what are the Best fluids I can use in my car. I've heard about the usual Royal Purple, but what would any of you use in your tranny/diff

Thank you, your help is greatly appreciated....

Transmission flushes are great, I typically do one every year in an auto.
DO NOT let them use any solvents in the process. There is no way you can get 100% of it back out, which leads to breakdown of new fluids and premature wear of internals.

I prefer AMSOIL tranny fluid and gear oil. Some prefer Royal Purple. Its up to you on that one, AMSOIL is cheaper, and they were the first full synthetic oil on the market.

I did my rear diff with Royal Purple.
I did my research on here and online and found that synthetic in the tranny might not be worth it. I have used it before in other cars, loved how easy it shifts, etc. Nobody could really tell me for sure which one to use, how safe it was, etc. The t56 says right on it what to use, I just put in new atf or whatever it required. I didn't care about a 2hp increase, Id rather have the piece of mind. Goodluck!
