I am going to assume we have completely different opinions of what 'smoked someone' is.

That's what I'm thinking. I've raced a couple of the 6 speed versions with my wifes car, which has a few bolt ons, and I barely edged out front after 3 gears (maybe a car length). Definately didn't "SMOKE" it.

The NSX isn't a bad thing to look like. I've always thought those cars were pure sex.

maybe in about 10 years when they can be had for a lot cheaper. I would go with a challenger if I bought something today. I could care less if it is slower.

Yes, there is a nice resemblence to it's older brother, especially from the front view and the rear view.
It's about as good as it gets when it comes to the retro look and still have a modern twist. It was voted best retro for a reason.

Now these I have a hard time seeing a resemblance. I have a 69 Z and these 5th gens just don't come close. About the only thing I see are the gauges inside that resemble the 69's. But everything else is just off the mark.

i see the roof line , the quarter panels and the gauges ...the front not so much..the front fascia is to long/close to the ground on the 010s compared to the orginals ...the originals have a nice point to them..where the 010s have a brick look..same for the back.

actually if you had the same pic with the Challenger bumper to bumper with the Camaro would would find it a lot closer , last series Mustang too but not as much now ,,,

I actually like the retro look of the mustangs (not the newest ones), and if looking at a new car, I would have leaned towards one. Until the Challenger came out that is.

Since I wont really be ready to buy until prob about this time next year .. The Rousch 427R or maybe even a Gt500 from say 08-09.. will be very tempting ..

I don't see the Rousch holding its value like a GT500 is going to. Even with new Gen5 prices coming down to reality I do not see them holding their value like a GT500. When Ford came out with the 03-04 Cobra, they were the first Stangs I would ever consider (oops forgot about the 69 and 70 stangs, like them too) and the GT500 takes it to another level. Made in the USA too.
