This is what I prefer to drive daily, and also serves to haul the family everywhere.

No it doesn't stop well, or turn well either. And it doesn't set the world on fire when the light turns green. But it has it's advantages. It's so cheap and easy to work on it's laughable. No electronics, or any other thing that can go wrong at a moments notice. Plus I can drive it anywhere I please on or off road.
In a nut shell, I'm pretty much done with new cars, I'll keep the 4th gens around, even though I'm not really driving them anymore, Mine hasn't had 100 miles on it in the last 2 years. And my wifes has been sitting for months now.

He is right, but those black boxes only record data, they cant access your car or track you with those boxes. This is back when the boxes were still just a device to record info before an accident. To help doctors and investigators understand the accident better. Now they can do alot more

Ya, those are 33's on it now in the pic. Funny you ask. The top has never been off of this one. I don't plan to either. It's heavy, and it would take up room while it's off. Not to mention the gaskets (as you could imagine) being 38 years old are dried up. So new gasket would be in order before going back on. That's about $200. Right now it doesn't leak a drop, so I'm keeping it that way
Besides, when I want top down driving I can just jump in this and push a button, alot easier on the back Sad part is, this is the car that hasn't had 100 miles in the last 2 years. Guess I'm not that anxious to burn the top of my head anymore.

Heard that! I'm getting thin up there so I don't take my tops out much as I did when I was young with my other f-bods.

But as for your blazer I was just curious. I have never seen one without it's top either. I just know they come off and are fiberglass iirc.. Yours is a fine example of what a good old chevy is..imho

I've helped others pull those tops off. They are made of fiberglass just as you said, but they are still pretty heavy. It's one of those deals where, if you pull it off, you will want to leave it off for a long period of time (like all summer) because of the hassle it is to take on and off.
And since this is a daily driver, I couldn't lock it up when going places. So that's another reason it just stays on there.

I guess it's under the console but I've never seen one on mine. But then again maybe it has something to do with me only being a 6? Wonder if it can be removed..?...

I can only imagine that the "black box" if it is just for crash data would prolly contain some kind of "G" meter (for lack of the proper term) Acellorometer ?!? It would be "NEAT" if one could acsess this info by way of computer..imho

Not really. I don't really care too much about one late model against another arguements, but I just can't dig on the 5th gens too much. But I don't like rattle free modern cars with all the modern amenities either. (meant my truck, our formy has no rattles)

If a bullfrog had wings, it wouldn't bump it's ass every time it jumped. 4th gen. all the way.

I don't drive a 4th gen maro, but if I did, I would not trade it in on a 5th gen by any means, first of all the styling of the 5th gen really is not up to par with the 4th gens, in my opinion the 4th gen looks 10x better, and then in terms of performance the 5th gen really does not seem to have a huge advantage over the 4th gens, so whats the point? It doesn't look as good, and by looking at the numbers on paper, it's like your not really getting a huge improvement in terms of performance (stock for stock).

Not really worth the new car payment. Just my .02 cents. If you want to go faster, why not just mod what you have?

I can honestly say camaros are the only car I've ever seen that I would love to have any generation of. Most cars have one good gen here or there and the rest aren't my cup of tea, but any gen camaro is pure sex. By far the best imo is 4th gen, but I would still rock the 5th gen if given the chance. I think some of the big deal about the new gen is simply because its still new and heavily promoted...I think that will fade out a little bit eventually... but it will introduce a lot of new people to GM muscle.

    This...

I also believe it was the look of the composit head-lights that helped drive Camaro sales down in the waining days of the 4th gen.. When the body style came @ the begining of the 4th gen it took little too long for the drastic change to sink in.. But I like that version better than mine.. Also a preistine 3rd gen from the last couple of years was sexy too.. Dare I say more so than the composite cars of the 4th gen'ers...
