350 to 383
i gt a 98 Camaro SS with the LS1...n i wanna stroke it to a 383...should i jst get the 400 crank? or would it b wise to get new internals as well...i only have 45,000 miles on da car

If the internals spec out I don't see a problem in my oppy in reuseing your stock internals.. But I thought you had to replace the rods/crank anyways to stroke it?? Also while you're in there why not replace some things?

if im not mistaken, making a 383 out of a 350 (or a 346 in the ls1's case), requires not only stroking the motor, but also boring it .030 over, or resleeving the ls1, or whatever the correct term for it is. That would mean having to get new pistons also.

All you should need is a stroker kit for 383. It's probably the easiest displacement for the LS1 since it doesn't require any machining to be done on the block or other work; sleeving, boring, etc. Check out GM High Performance. They did this a few years back. Google is your friend.

id change out most of your internals anyways while you are in it. the pistons should be upgraded as is as do the connecting rods. why would you not use new stronger parts ?
