If you buy it, spend some extra and go ahead and buy another engine and tranny cause chances are it's pretty worn out.

201k?? jesus... while that is impressive and a testament to how durable our cars can be, i still dont think i would buy ANYTHING with 200,000+ miles on it. thats just asking for trouble.... i dont know what may break specifically, but i would imagine it would be "terminal" when it inevitably did happen. you would have to assume you would be looking at at least putting a new engine and transmission in there as someone else mentioned, might as well just spend more for another LS1 that won't come with so much risk.

the thing to remeber when buying any used car is that all you are doing is buying someones else problems.

201K is a little high. my 98 had 156K and my 99 has 135K. I would not buy with higher mileage than 145K or so. You are asking for trouble. Engines are very expensive rebuilds for LS1.

fact is that not only do the motor trans and rear end have 201k+ but the suspension accessorys and everything eles have that milage... motor may not be bad or trans but all the other things that could 100 or 500 dollor u to death... chances are u may end up spending the difference in time tards a better lo mile ls1 car...

If the deal is good enough I say go for it. Mine had 175K when I got it. I was leary but the deal was so good I couldn't pass it up. It was an origional owner that kept mobil 1 synthetic in it and the car was very well maintained. It runs like a bat out of hell and was in much better shape than some lower mileage ones I looked at. It all depends on who had the car and how well it was maintained. Ive seen cars with under 100K with blown engines and bad trannys so its really a crap shoot. I would just save your money and be ready for a engine tranny install in the future.

Pewter- 2001 Z28
does the body look good and interior and all that. Usually I found go with your gut instinct. I paid 6 grand for 115k on a 01 Z28, but the body was really nice and the interior was also very good except for the horrible design of the factory interior with those inserts and door panels im sure someone knows what im talkn about. Anyways I got mine to work on and change basically everything, so if you just want to drive it and cant or dont want to do the work on it I would pass, otherwise it could be a awesome project car. I can only tell you I love working on my car but love driving it even more, it depends what your in it for.
